Frequently asked questions - THERMAL Imaging

Thermal imaging uses a specialized camera to create a picture based on detected heat. I.e. different colour in a thermal image indicate different te,temperatures. Because the image is purely based on detected heat it makes no difference even if it is dark. The use in snagging, when appropriate will show you where, if anywhere heat is escaping from your property, heating or water leaks or similar. 

If you have underfloor heating, generally we will thermal l image inclusive of the report. We don't recommend external thermal imaging unless it is in the Winter months due to thermal signatures only being picked up when the temperature inside the property differs from that outside (Which is less substantial in the warmer months).

We only recommend thermal imaging in the colder months or if you specifically have a symptom of a cold or hot spot in your property.

Unfortunately like most things in life yes! ... It is included (if possible) in a gold level snag, is optional on a silver snag for £60 extra and for commercial or non residential house surveys  the price will be quoted for you.
